“This book is an attempt to compile popular and unknown arguments against the principles of the Christian canon. Christianity has become separated into many smaller sects, but retains some constant biblical tenets and divine ideas- it is these similarities that are crucial if my thesis is to be considered a ‘disproval’. Using essays and biblical analysis, I discuss some of the contradictory and controversial passages from the Hebrew Scriptures (which Christians refer to as the “Old Testament”) and the New Testament, along with modern practices, beliefs, and teachings of twenty-first century Christianity in an attempt to make known the discrepancies which have largely been ignored within the Christian Church- especially in Western Society.” – David G. McAfee

From the back cover:

“David G. McAfee introduces his first book- an introductory look into the world of Christianity and the refutation of its key principles. Using (almost exclusively) evidence and passages from the Christian Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, David is able to establish new arguments against the validity of the Christian religion as well as reorganize and reevaluate some of the more traditional debates. Through a close-reading of the Sacred Texts and years of studying the Christian theology from a secular viewpoint, David G. McAfee is able to approach the refutation of Christianity from a reasonable and logical viewpoint. From contradictions in the Holy Bible, to contradictions in modern Christian teachings, to problems with the founding pillars of Christianity itself, Mr. McAfee- in this book- is able to successfully Disprove Christianity.”

Letter from the Editor

“… (Disproving Christianity) offers a concise compilation of a number of inconsistencies and discrepancies in the Bible that could be used to provide reasoned, specific challenges to Christianity. The author does a good job presenting the material in an objective, balanced way. He raises straightforward questions in a way that doesn’t diminish the emotions that are a natural part of one’s faith or come across as condescending to believers… The book is well organized, setting the stage at the start with a definition of Christianity and a discussion on the importance of the Bible to people of faith and why it is the value that the faithful give to the Bible that makes the book’s contradictions and discrepancies worthy of study. The author presents points logically and with clarity, and the copy flows smoothly. Important ideas are presented in consistent and similarly structured ways, which helps readers follow the author’s thought processes and arguments… There’s no sense of the dogmatic in the way in which the author writes. He comes across as someone who would be interested in a fair exchange of views on the subject of Christianity; someone who would listen to opposing arguments without shouting someone else down—or, as the old saying goes, someone who would know how to disagree without being disagreeable…”
