The Parasitic Pandemic of Priesthood
by David G. McAfee
The Pope and his priests have punished us plenty.
The people need teachers- not preachers.
Yet they pray- and become prey.
Their principles pilfered by the pirates of piety.
People- in the steeple- place part of their pay in the collection plate
Perpetuating the painful processes of past and present.
Parents become pawns in the church’s plots
Passing the perennial “truth” to unsuspecting youth.
So the pews stay filled- and the heretics killed-
To preserve the purity of the passion
But the promises of passing through Saint Peter’s Gates
Are too little- and much too late.
